Lovely Little Lily

So being a stay at home mom isn't always easy. I know that you are probably thinking, but you only have one kid, how hard can it be?? But here is the thing, somtimes I think it may be hard BECAUSE I have one kid. And this one kid is my darling sweet, and terribly needy Lily, who relies on me to provide constant entertainment to her. I don't know if it is partially just due to her personality or if I have flubbed up by giving her to much attention, but most days just keeping her busy, happy, and entertained is a full days work. So in order to get anything done I have to try very hard to distract her. The other night I was trying desperatley to get some work done on a scrapbook, she was trying desperately to give me more help than I could handle. I had told her no and taken many scrapbooking things away from her so many times that I didn't much care whatelse she got into!

10 minutes of peace and quiet: PRICELESS!

Fun at the Zoo!

Matt and I decided to buy a membership to the Phoenix Zoo this year. We both love the zoo and figured that it would be a good excuse to get outside with Lily from time to time. We have been twice this past month and will probably go again at least once before it gets too hot. Then this fall when it starts to cool down Lily will be old enough to appreciate the animals a little more. She likes it now, but I think that she mostly likes to be outside and doing something different. The zoo has a really cool exhibit right now with string rays and sharks in a tank that you can reach in and pet. It is really cool and I wish that we had gotten some pictures of it, but we did take plenty of pictures of LOTS of other things. It will be hard to decide which ones to put up here. The second time we went to the zoo, my mom, my brother, my sister and my two nephews went with us. That was fun. Being at the zoo makes me feel like a kid again and I am excited to be able to go often throughout this next year. Although I always feel a little sad for some of the animals too. Anyway, here are some pics.

Here are Matt and Lily checking out the Rinos

I LOVE thier monkey exhibit, they let you walk around inside the cage with all the little monkeys. Its my favorite!

Lily's 1st Birthday!!

OK! Lily turned 1 year old on Febuary 24th! I could not believe it! The time goes by SO quickly and with the sleep deprivation, one day just kind of melted into the next and all of the sudden, she is one and walking around. She had a GREAT time at her birthday party. She got WAY more presents than she needed, but she loved them all. I was actually a little suprised at how much attention she has paid to each one and how happy she was to have new things. I didn't think she would care that much about her presents, but she really did appreciate them! I wish that more of the people who wanted to be there could have joined in the fun but we had most of our families there and I had a good time. :) It was a good first birthday!

Here are some pictures:

Welcome to the beginning!

Hey ya'll! Welcome to our new blog! I will admit that I am generally not a huge bloggerator, but I am going to give it a shot! I will at least try to keep you updated on all the going-ons of our little family.

And especially all of the wonders of having the most adorable of dramatic one year olds, who else? Miss Lily of course!! Here she is being silly last night before bed! Follow this link to watch the video, it gets the best at the end :)

Anyway, our lives tend to pattern in either super crazy mode, or super slow/utterly boring to anyone not having to live it mode. So there may be lots of posts one week and then a break for a few weeks with nothing much, such is our life! I hope that you will add this to your favorites list and check back on my progress often, or at least look at the many cute photos I am sure to upload.

I think that this "starter" is all I can handle today but look for these posts coming soon :)

*Pics and an overview of our first trip to the zoo with Lily

*A venting over the new diet & exercise program I am doing (it's not the exercise that is the problem it's the dreaded diet, and I am sure that the need to rant about the unfufilled need to eat something yummy and totally bad for me is not far around the corner!)

*Update on how Matt feels about his new job!

Anyway, stay tuned for (hopefuly) more interesting posts to come!
